Life Insurance

NextEra Energy offers Group Term Life Insurance as well as the option to purchase add-on insurance. Contributions will be taken directly from your paycheck on a pre-tax basis, and you can purchase coverage up to four times your annual base salary.

Retirement Savings Plan – 401(k)

NextEra Energy, Inc. works with Fidelity Investments to offer you a voluntary savings and investment plan to help you save for retirement in tax-effective ways.

You can contribute up to 50 percent of your base pay through convenient payroll deductions before-tax or after-tax, or a combination of both. NextEra Energy makes matching contributions (between 25 percent and 100 percent) on the first 7 percent of base pay you save.

To help you make the right investment decisions for you, you’ll have 24/7 support available.

Pension

While many companies have dropped pension plans in favor of less-costly 401(K) plans, NextEra Energy employees continue to enjoy both options. Our pension plan is funded entirely by the company and is provided at no cost to you. Together with the Retirement Savings Plan and your personal savings, NextEra Energy can help you build a more financially secure future.

New participants in the plan have an opening account balance that starts at zero and grows through annual credits (basic and interest credits) added to your account each year. The basic credits are 4.5 percent of your pensionable earnings for your first five years, and 6 percent when you have five of more years of vesting service.

You’ll receive quarterly statements showing how your pension account has grown, plus you can check your account online at any time.

Your customized Total Rewards package will outline the paid time off program available to you. It will include:

NextEra Health & Well-Being

Our award winning NextEra Health & Well-Being program is about helping you and your family make healthy lifestyle choices.

At a number of NextEra Energy, Inc. locations, we provide on-site gyms, fitness classes, weight management, healthy back and neck programs, and health seminars.

Our Health Centers offer routine physicals, treatment of minor injuries and illnesses, management of chronic conditions, laboratory tests and x-rays, allergy shots, immunizations, and nutrition counseling.

Headquarters

Our five-building headquarters campus in Juno Beach, Fla., has a number of amenities, including:

  • On-site doctors and a fully equipped health center
  • On-site fitness center (providing towels, work-out gear and classes)
  • On-site cafeteria (with six food stations)

Flexible Spending Accounts

We offer you the choice to open a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to help you pay for certain health care and dependent care expenses. This means you can set aside a portion of your paycheck as tax-free for covering out-of-pocket health care expenses such as deductibles, co-insurance and over-the-counter medications, and dependent care expenses such as day care costs.

Direct Deposit

By signing up for Direct Deposit, you never have to worry about going to the bank. Plus, you can be assured your money is exactly where you need it, even if you’re on vacation or away from your normal work location.

Once you’re on board and have your employee ID number, all we need is your bank account and bank’s routing numbers, and you can sign up on the NextEra Energy, Inc. intranet to have your funds deposited directly into the account of your choice.

Adoption Assistance

Whether you’re adopting a child from halfway around the globe, or from across the U.S., we know it’s an emotional and often costly process. NextEra Energy’s adoption assistance program can help.

We will pay up to $4,000 for eligible adoption-related expenses per child – for public or private adoptions. We also provide access to adoption specialists, referrals and information about licensed adoption agencies, private adoptions and state regulations.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Reaching out and asking for help can be difficult, so NextEra Energy tries to make it as easy as possible. To help with a wide array of stressful situations or emotional problems, such as drug or alcohol dependency, marital difficulties, or learning disabilities, our Employee Assistance Program has services available for you and your loved ones.

A 24/7 hotline is available so you can get what you need - counseling, legal consultations, financial counseling – whatever it might be. And rest assured that we deliver all of this with total confidentiality.
