What’s the best way to find open positions?
Use the Search function to enter your search criteria. The system will return openings matching your parameters.

How do I find out if there are positions available in a specific department, business function or part of the country?
There are multiple ways to search our database for current openings. A keyword search on the Job Search page will provide you with the largest and most varied list. To narrow your search down, browse the database by function, location or key word.

Do I need to create an account to browse openings?
No. You may search our job openings as a visitor, but if you want to apply for a job, you’ll need to create an account.

How can I find out where my experience and skills might fit?
Place your cursor over the "more information" icon to get a brief synopsis of a job. This should help you determine if the job will match your background and interests.

What if I don’t see any openings that interest me right now? How can I find out about future positions?
If you don’t see the right job for you, then set up a "Job Alert" in your profile. You will receive an automatic e-mail notification each time a job is created that matches your chosen criteria. You can create several different "Job Alerts" depending on the types of jobs you’re seeking.

How often are new positions posted in your database?
Opportunities will be posted on our Web site as soon as they become available. It is worth saving the site to your Favorites and visiting regularly to make sure you don’t miss out on any new opportunities.

How do I apply?
To apply, you’ll need to create a profile or log in as a return user. Once you find a position for which you’d like to apply, simply click the "Apply" button.

Can I apply for more than one job at the same time?
Absolutely. We encourage you to review our opportunities to find those that best fit with your qualifications and professional skills.

My computer crashed when I was applying. Do I need to start over?
If your computer crashes, you’ll want to log in to your account, go to My Jobpage and view your submissions. If your job submission is not in "completed" or "draft" status, you will need to reapply for the position.

What happens after I’ve applied?
You may be contacted by a recruiter if your qualifications meet the job requirements.

Can I withdraw an application if I change my mind?
Yes. If you are no longer interested in the opportunity, you may go to My Jobpage, My Submissions and withdraw from consideration.

Do you check references?
Yes. We perform reference checks and validate education.

Do you do background checks?
Yes. We perform background checks once a candidate has accepted an offer.

Will you call and let me know if I’m not selected for an interview?
We wish we could call every applicant and thank him or her for applying to an opening at NextEra Energy. However, the number of applications we receive makes that impossible. We encourage candidates to check their job status online.

Each year, we recruit from dozens of top universities across the country. Check with your school’s career services office for more information.
