NextEra Energy, Inc. proactively seeks to develop and expand business relationships with qualified small, minority, women-owned, or otherwise diverse suppliers.

Our dedicated supplier diversity team guides suppliers to prepare and position their businesses for maximum access to bid and contract opportunities.

We also conduct periodic reviews to make sure we’re doing all we can to achieve our goal to increase spending with diverse suppliers every year.

FPL has been recognized numerous times by the Southern Florida Minority Supplier Development Council (SFMSDC), a not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the development and expansion of minority-owned businesses, for its contributions in the area of minority business development.

The SFMSDC awarded FPL the 2007 Crystal Award for its exemplary contributions. In 2008 and 2009, the SFMSDC honored FPL for its "Outstanding Support" of minority business development. The utility has also received special recognition from the State of Florida, Office of Supplier Diversity.
