After retiring in 2020 following 35 years of service with Florida Power & Light Company, Kim L. Sprague, former Manasota area manager, gives back to her local community when they need it most.

Kim assisted with Hurricane Ian restoration efforts serving as a backup incident commander managing three staging sites: Sarasota Fairgrounds, Cool Today Park and the Charlotte County Airport staging site. She managed line crews, tree crews, patrollers and various support teams from logistics to customer service and more.

“I loved jumping right back in, working with so many of my FPL family and restoring power to my community, family and friends,” Kim said.

During her spare time, Kim is a part-time baker for her own business, Kim’s Cookies & Krumbles, where she bakes custom cookies for any occasion in Sarasota. She also volunteers with Love4Paws dog rescue, giving back to her local community. When Kim isn’t supporting these efforts, she enjoys staying connected to the NextEra Energy family.
